Crackling on right lung

Went to GP today after coughing hideously for 2 weeks. She said I had crackling in right lung and that "the infection had moved down further than it should", and gave me antibiotics. Don't feel too bad, just a bit stuffed up low down on one side of chest, washed out and with horrid cough.

Do you think this is just bronchitis. Keep Googling and it says crackles mean pneumonia, am hoping not.

Just curious really?

TIA.

No not necessarily pneumonia. I had a chest infection last summer which lasted for yonks ( most don't). Every time the Doc listened to my chest there were crackles. Kept moving sides and seemed to settle in the lower right lobe. I had 2 chest x rays and even a ct scan which were all clear. Lots of deep breathing and steam inhalations help. Try to get lots of rest/ fluids/ fresh fruit etc. Hope you feel better soon.

Phew. Thanks.

Don't get much chance to rest, DD is 3.5 with SN and is hyperactive, basically. Thankfully she has had a 2.5 hour nap today!(will pay for it when she won't go to sleep later though!)
