cut myself and fainted

I cut my finger yesterday, it wasn't bad enough for stitches, but was quite deep. The strange thing is, I nearly pased out twice within the hour, and felt a tight feeling in my chest.
The cut wouldn't stop bleeding, so was wondering if this could be due to pregnancy? I have cut myself loads, and never had this reaction before? I still feel a bit faint and sick today?
Anyone else had a strange reaction like this?

It's common- it's as if you body goes into shock- it sends the blood to your vital organs and away from your brain.
My DH has fainted when he cuts his finger- not a wuss, it's just how he is!

Just be aware it mighthappen again t o you.

I am totally rubbish with cuts to my hands (or even the very thought of it - can't bear people talking about them), and have passed out or nearly passed out on a number of occasions over the years. I'm absolutely fine with cuts elsewhere, but I guess it's just very visible on your hands, and as Purplepeony says, it's just shock - a completely natural reaction.
