Can you buy eve primrose oil as a liquid oil instead of capsules?

My doctor has recommended that I start taking Evening Primrose Oil but I find it very difficult to swallow those huge capsules.

I haven't seen any liquid oil in Tesco, Boots, Holland & Barrett etc so wondered if anyone had any ideas where I might get some.

Thanks in advance.

No idea, sorry, but could you cut them open if not available?

You can certainly buy it, I've bought it from here to use when I make body butter. It's sold for external use though, so I'm not sure about whether you can swallow it.

here.

Captain - I have sort of chewed them open in the past but it wasn't very nice (!) and I always wondered if I was getting the full dose of oil. The capsules were still quite oily afterwards, iyswim.

Bran - thanks for that. I'll drop them an email and see if it's edible!

Thanks again to both of you.

Dunno about evening primrose oil, but you can get starflower oil in liquid form, however drinking borage oil (or any oil) neat is worse than swallowing capsules IMHO.

My friend suggests taking the capsules with food, ie chewing food and just as you are about to swallow put the capsule in and swallow the whole lot. I find it's easier to sip a little water, then put the capsule in my mouth as far back as possible and drink lots of water to get it to go down...

Saltire - thanks, that looks perfect!

Fuzzy - thanks to you too. I can't say I'm looking forward to drinking the neat oil but I've struggled to take tablets since my teens and have tried all the tricks in the book.

Will have to see if I can bear the liquid stuff now!

Thanks again.
