So, have just been to the dentist and my wisdom tooth has decayed so have to go and get it taken out at the hospital. How does it work? Was too embarrassed and scared to ask him and wanted to get out of there asap. Is it normally under general? How long does it take etc?

I am having a tooth (or whats left of it) extracted at an anaestetic centre next month . Mine was a tooth that a filling fell out of when I was preggers and was too scared of dentist to get sorted and until I ended up with the damn tooth collapsing!!

Anyway, having it out under a general, been told not to eat or drink for six hours before I get there, and will be in and out in a couple of hours.
