I keep having period like pain and my chest is very tender. I had a period about 2 weeks ago and usually don't have any problems like this. I had a baby six months ago, could it be the hormone levels in my body? Im starting to worry now.

If you had your period two weeks ago, then I suspect you might just be experiencing some ovulation pain / related symptons. Completely normal and noting to worry about.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 12:48

I am suffering very similar symptoms and they think it may be gallstones, awaiting an ultrasound to confirm

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 13:04

OMG, I'm having similar too. Haven't had chest pain but have had very tender nipples, I'd convinced myself I must be due on again but have also only had my period 2 weeks ago. Dd is also 6 months old. Gallstones run in my family - oh dear...

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 13:05

apparently it is very common after pregnancy pain sometimes tends to be more right sided, although not the hard set rule

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 13:36

Mine are sort of in the middle, exactly as when I have period pains. They're not constant though, are yours on and off angelcake?

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 14:20

that sounds like gallstones to because the pain isn't constant

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 14:27

Oh bum off to the doctors i go!!! Better be safe than sorry I suppose. Without going into too much info territory would it also effect pooing? seem to have had erm.....loose stools (!!) for a while.
Sorry for thread-jack angelcake.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 14:27

i do too so possibly??

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 14:31

Arse! But thanks for the info, I was wondering!

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 14:34

let me know how you get on

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 14:44

Will do but will be a gap of two weeks as off on holiday on Saturday and no chance our doc will be able to see me before!

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 14:47

if you go to pharmaschists before you go and get yourself some anti spasmodics they will help any pain whilst you're away

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 15:26

Good suggestion, thanks, will get some

angelcake99 · 03/08/2005 21:33

DM!!! It is weird but i am also having upset stomach problems!! I think i will also get to the Doc's. Thanks for the advice everyone. Dm let me know what the doc says asbout your symptoms.

Ah Forgot to mention my pain is on and off also. Not constant. Are gallstones bad?

dizzymama · 03/08/2005 21:36

Will do angelcake! Lets cross our fingers that it's just a 6 month old baby thing!!!

angelcake99 · 06/09/2005 03:33

Still having problems! off to the GP tomorrow? DP thinks it is my body settling down from last pregnancy, but that was nearly 8 months ago!
