Ovarian Cyst bleed

Hi, having just spent a night in hospital this week I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this : apparantly I have two ovarian cysts which bled, causing excrutiating stomach pains, bad enough to be given morphine. The next morning I asked if they could be taken out, the consultant said that no they couldnt and that they should just absorb back into my body. I have a follow up appointment at the beginning of June. Has anyone else had any experience ? I really dont want the chance of them carrying on growing etc and it happening again. Also if I decided to go abroad this would be classed as a pre-existing condition wouldnt it ?

If your cysts have burst there is little chance that they can re-form and grow back. You could get new cysts but these can come and go and don't always burst.

why would you need to declare this if you want abroad? Do you mean on insurance?

If the cysts have burst then I'd say the condition is over and not something you need to say exists.

they didn't rupture, they bled so I think in essence they are still there. Mind you it sure felt like they ruptured ! And yes for travel insurance

Is rupturing and bleeding not the same thing though?

I have a cyst, which has been monitored for almost 2 years, which has been getting smaller but was told if I had any severe pain to go to hospital. I understood the pain would happen if it twisted, bled/ruptured.

I don't know what to suggest re insurance; loads of woemn have ovarian cysts which come and go, and most people don't know they have them until they have a scan or some other investigation.

I'd ask your GP what they suggest re, insurance.

thanks, well when they came to tell me what was wrong, they said that the cyst hadn't ruptured but had bled. Mind you I was pretty out of it on the pain relief lol
