I am new to Mumsnet so sorry if I am putting this in the wrong place but I am after help to raise awareness for this dreadful disease that often goes undetected until it is in its advanced stages .... which is what has happened to Adam, a gorgeous little 6 year old boy.

He is a friend of my son's friend, but when I went to the website I knew I had to help. It is everyones worst nightmare. Please go to the site - www.adamsappeal.org and if possible make a donation or help spread the word through friends, schools or anyone else.

He is currently being treated at the Royal Marsden but the family need to raise £300k (£64k already raised) to send Adam to America to receive further treatment. Since his diagnosis Adam has had surgery to remove a gland in his neck, had an intravenous line fitted directly into his heart for drug administration, undergone 8 months of intensive chemotherapy, endured dozens of invasive testing procedures and needed numerous blood and platelet transfusions. Such a lot for a little boy to go through. Despite all his treatment he has not responded well and detectable cancer cells remain active in his bone marrow and throughout his body.
