Contraception choices??

Hi,

I had dd after having mirena removed after 8 years (2 x mirena) of drama (and mostly bleed) free contraception. GP says i cant have another one yet due to risk of infection or something post emcs.

GP pretty much tried to force implant on too. Not having that - no way.

Interested in contraceptive jab but have heard horror stories.

Does anybody haveany experience of the jab? Whats it like? Any other ideas or should I just go back on the pill and wing it (dd was conceived on the pill!)

just had 1st period post birth so need to decide quickly!!

I haven't ever had the jab, and TBH I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. No reason I know of why you couldn't get another Mirena, say 8 weeks after the birth? I had mine about 4 months after because I was still thinking about it.

Patch? Not suitable if breastfeeding though. Mini pill if BF, normal pill if not...but I can see it would be a tricky one if you have got pregnant on the pill before

Snip for DP then, all done

he he. dh wants to get snip after dc2 but need to go back to work for 2 years before that or ownt get any maternity pay!

gp said outright no to mirena but might get 2nd opinion.

thanks for info re pill though - think i might go with mini pill
