Muscle ache after virus

DD had a virus on Sunday/Monday, seemed much better by Monday lunchtime.
Tuesday I woke up with a slight sore throat, soon went. That afternoon my neck & shoulders started aching, spread to my limbs.
Wednesday i was in agony, crying in pain when doing anything to contract muscles - kneeling down/lifting/climbing stairs etc.
Yesterday was slightly better but today is agony again. How long is this likely to last? do i have any reason to fear long term effects??

Sorry to hear that SPB. Sympathy.

Sounds like a particularly nasty virus.

Have you taken some anti-inflammatories?

Noone can really know how long it will last, it depends on the virus.
Most last about a week or so.

Although a few years back I had Ross Rover Virus (from mosquitoes) which lasted months.

Hope you feel better soon.

Oops Ross River Virus.
Not rover.

The fact that it is so painful - I think you might need to go to the GP.
