Just noticed today, dd 4 next week has a small bit of yellow discharge and red around her vagina area, not too concerned about it but she was quite interested in it and asking what it was .... She has not taken anti b's so it is not yeast .... Any suggestions as to what it may be ..

Sounds like an infection to me..

Agree with Flook, could be an infection but any amount of redness may be uncomfortable for her? See GP?

Have you tried something like sudocrem for the redness. Is she itching herself? To make her vagina red?

Maybe some bathing in tepid water?

My dd1 had something very similar when she was 5. Turned out she'd probably scratched herself with grubby fingernails, and had an infection...she needed antibiotics, in the end. I tried sudocreme for a couple of days, then Canesten, but it got worse- ABs cleared it up very fast.

It wasn't particularly sore for the first couple of days, then slowly got worse, iirc.

Yes gave her a bath with no bubbles and put some sudocream on, it is not giving her much dis comfort ...

Thanks Elibean, will give it a few days n see what happens... She has never had an antibiotic, DP totally against, so hopefully with extra little bit of care, it clears up by itself ...

Have recently been to GP with DD who had same. Antibiotics have sorted it. I did Sudocrem and Canesten too, but it was an infection, so they weren't any use.
