My GP tells me my hearing difficulties are caused by a retracted eardrum..I have tried to google this to no effect. What causes this, how is it treated? I have been given eardrops to clear wax, but this has caused tinnitus. I wish I hadn't bothered attending GP as my hearing is much worse and the tinnitus is annoying. Deafness is quite isolating. Can anyone please offer some insight or experience .
