libido and prostate enlargement

My DH has problems with his prostate, enlargement I think. He refuses to see a doctor. We have virtually stopped having sex. He is quite capable of an erection. I am wondering whether he has someone else, which he denies, or whether his self diagnosed prostate enlargement is turning him off sex even though he is capable. I would value some advice.

Sorry Baggy - no expert on this but has he seen a doc? You say self-diagnosed?

If you dh thinks there is an issuewith his prostrate, he needs to go to the gp. No question.

IMO his libido could jolly well be effected by worry, better to have his mind put to rest.

How on earth can he possibly know that he has an enlarged prostate if he hasn't seen a doctor?

If he's got urinary or bowel issues it could be a multitude of things, he needs to see a doctor, make him an appointment and make him go!

You could always get him on saw palmetto / ginseng and gingko, all of which will support his sexual health/function, a good idea even for a healthy man, I take it he's over 50?

My fil has prostate cancer, thankfully it's under control because he got an early diagnosis.
