Is this mastitis I am not sure

Hello, I have had mastitis 5 or 6 times in the past and so think I am quite good at spotting the symptoms but just not sure this morning.

Basically I have felt rough for a couple of days, and last night I could not get warm despite getting the bath as hot as I could stand it. Then I became feverish and hot after taking ibuprofen. My breasts are aching and the nipples painful when feeding dd. But I have no red patches (nipples feel hot).

Dd is 18m and has been poorly she has a virus (slight rash), so has been feeding more than usual. So I am not sure if I just have her virus.

I should just go to the GP I suppose.

Best go just in case. You don't want an abscess!

Sorry meant to add, just tell them it's definitely mastitis, in case you get one of those "wait and see" doctors. ( at the memory)

Good point shaz, would hate to be fobbed off - usually I am v sure and go in an tell the GP what to prescribe - tis just that this time I have a niggling doubt...
