I've tried searching google for the answers but every website jjust seems to say different and I'm getting myself worried.
I went into hospital in tuesday and had my appendix remnonved as a precaution but the thing causing me pain was some cysts on my ovaries. I've had them removed via keyhole surgery.
I'm still in as much pain as I was before does that mean anything? Does the fact that I had cysts mean anything really important? The hospital told me nothing apart from that I'll need monthly smears and ultrasounds to keep an eye on things. What does that mean?
Thank you I just have no idea whats going on and I'm really worried.

I am wondering if this was anything to do with endometriosis. Sometimes the appendix is removed during laparoscopy type surgeries and the cysts can also sometimes be endometriosis related (these are called chocolate cysts).

If you have not had a follow up appt to discuss the findings of the surgery you've had, you should have one of these asap. To leave you with minimal information you are not fully understanding of is no good at all and is poor practice on the hospital's part.

I would call the consultants secretary asap and insist on an appt to see the consultant. The fact that you are still in pain does warrant a chat and further investigation.

Hope you feel better soon.
