I'm on Dianette at the moment for my skin which is in a dire state. I read that it's helpful for your skin if you don't take the 7 day break, so you're getting a constant dose of hormones. I did find on my last break that I got a bit more spotty, so I'm thinking of missing the next break.

I'm a bit paranoid though. Will I end up with lots of stuff 'building up'? I'm worried it'll make me bloated. Also, I'm a bit worried about bleeding at random times.
Any ideas? Thanks

I 'tri cycle' microgynon and have done for years as I suffer from endometriosis. This, for me has caused no problems and keeps the endo at bay. I also love the fact I only have a period every three months.

I have to say though this was advised to me by my consultant, not something I just decided to do.

I often do it just because I don't feel like having a bleed - holidays etc.

The 3 weeks on, one week off pill cycle was, as I understand it, decided on by the (male) inventors because they assumed women would actually want a 'period'. Er, no thanks!

I have a break about every 3 months as otherwise I sometimes get a bit of breakthrough (not much though).

This is with Marvelon - which is mostly for crap skin due to PCOS, Dianette didn't suit me. Just mentioning it in case you ever need an alternative

Thanks for the reassurance.

Grimma - I was on Marvelon for a couple of months and found it really good but then got diagnosed with PCOS so the doctor suggested Dianette. 6 weeks in and my skin is no better than when I was on Marvelon but I'll probably have to wait a few months yet.
