same age as my dd3 (5months old). diagnosed at 3months old. the docs say if she doesn get a heart transplant by novemeber she may be dead soon after. its so sad. i hate this illness, its robbing families of happiness and there isnt much options apart from transplant and in some cases LVADs. its tearing families apart.

So sorry, misedee. It's horrible but I have to say, I'm on the transplant list for whatever people want and I would have no hesitation in puting my children forward for transplant. I think that if the death of my child (god, that sounds so morbid ) could help someone else's child, it could help my tears to dry a little. I would just want them to look "OK" if you know what I mean. I am not willing to start or discuss a thread about this as I know how contentious it culd get. Sending love to you, Misdee and the mum in the paper is in my thoughts and prayersxxxx

if anything did happen to my kids then yes i would donate. there i8s adreadful shortage, apparently last year 400 people died waiting for transplants. i really hope this baby gets a transplant in time, she looked so tiny.

my cousin got a hospital bed because another child the same age as him, same problem died. his heart surgery was successful, and he is now a healthy annoying teenager.
he was three months old at the time. i cant imagine how the parents of that child must have felt. just know how hard it was for all in our family.
lots of love to you misdee. keep strong.

Update on Holly, from Heartline.

''Heard from my friend today, Holly is apparently doing very well, and the docs at GOS are very pleased with her so far. They are hoping to move her back to Bristol in a couple of weeks as long as she carries on doing well. Thanks for your messages, I've sent them all to Karen.

(misdee) I'm praying for you as well, you and your family are being so brave, it puts everything into perspective. I hope a heart comes along soon.''

misdee · 14/08/2005 09:40

Oh WOW, I'm welling up at work.

I have told DH so many times that I want my organs donated. He better carry out my wishes or I'll haunt him forever!!!!!!

potty1 · 09/09/2005 09:10

Update

Holly is home a doing great

Littlefish · 09/09/2005 09:23

Fantastic news about Holly.

I've always carried a donor card, but this thread has prompted me to go and register online as well. It also promoted a really useful conversation with my DH. We both now know each other's wishes with regard to organ donation which is such an important part of the process I feel.

Misdee, you're very much in my thoughts too. I had no idea about your dd3, I thought it was just Peter. Is there anything at all that I can do to help?

Littlefish · 09/09/2005 13:53

Oh god Misdee - just re-read this properly. Not your dd at all, just the same age. SO SORRY! Feel like a complete arse.
