Hoping for some advice here please
I have the mirena coil for 3 years. No periods, just occasional spotting (about 5 times in 3 years) On Monday starting bleeding more heavily, no abdo pain. My coil strings were cut too short so it isn't checkable, had an ultrasound last year to check it is still there and it was but the coil strings are not in the right place. I have made an appt to see the nurse but can't get an appt til the 20th May.
I also had an abnormal smear last year and subsequent laser, normal smear in Dec, due next smear in June
So don't know if my coil has moved/fallen out or just not producing the hormone causing me to bleed. Anyone experienced this?
Or could it be something to do with my abnormal smear, should I try and get to see a Dr sooner, and what are the chance of me having contraceptive cover???
