Periods after childbirth

I had my first period a couple of weeks after stopping breastfeeding/expressing, then another one 2 weeks later, now its been 6 weeks and I haven't had one. Is this normal and no, I don't think I'm pregnant again.

I think it's pretty normal for periods to take a while to settle down to a regular cycle after childbirth. If you're worried, of course, see your doctor.

I have heard it can take a while for things to get back to normal.

I had my first period when my son was 6 wks old, I had hoped it would be months before I got it, but I wasn't so lucky.

If you're really concerned and a home pregancy test doesn't allay your fears, book an appointment with the doc just to be sure.

Hi zebedee. How long ago was it that you gave birth?
I had my DS just over 3 months ago and still no periods yet (couldn't breasfeed, although was expressing for a week afterwards) Think I will see the doc if they don't return next month.
If I was you I wouldn't be worried about the irregularity, maybe give it another couple of weeks.

Hi Robin - DS is 14 weeks old.
