Omeprazole side effects in infant

Hi

Has anyone experienced side effects in their baby with losec mups?

My DD1 started on them 4 days ago after developing oral aversion due to reflux (was prev on ranitidine). Her appetite has improved but she is:

1. really sleepy (cant say this is a bad thing)

1. seems to be getting terrible tummy pain - this is listed as a side effect for adults so wondering if this is the losec - about an hour after the dose, and half hour after feed she starts shrieking and squirming and groaning and eventually has a couple of explosive poos a few hours later. if not the losec then i wonder if its reflux and losec hasnt started working yet but ranitidine worn off (although admittedly from how i describe it doesnt sound as likely)?

how long did people find it takes to work?
did anyone see these side effects and if so how did they last?

its almost as bad as the reflux. she seems really miserable and subdued whereas before she was "just" not hungry and losing weight.

dont have a paeds appt for 5 weeks and gp no help.

any advice appreciated

sorry, also wanted to ask, is giving it in split doses better? she gets 4mg in the morning with some apple juice, half hour before feed. she is 21 weeks and just going to start weaning this week.
