Leave it. It's happened to me lots. Ususally it has ended up in the corner of my eye the next morning and I can just pick it out.

Are you sure its a bit of lens? Chum of mine was convinced he had a bit of stray lens and it turned out he was trying to pull out a bit of skin (still attached). However, I'd suggest flushing it out with something like Optrex or saline and see if that helps.

have you got any saline solution you can run through your eye to try and wash it out?

InVinoFerretsAss · 19/04/2010 19:48

Are you sure it's a bit of lense? You may have just scratched your eyeball getting the lense out and that bit would be irritated and sore?

Other than that, look in a mirror, try to find the piece?

Eyes are pretty good at working irritations out for themselves in my experience.
Hope you feel better soon!!

Flush with lots and lots of saline solution.
Then put a patch over it to let it "rest"

Will try a bit of saline to get it out - these are daily disposables so really thin and difficult to see/find - compounded by fact have no bloody decent light to see....

If you are really desperate to get it out you need to lie down, drop the saline in and close your eye for a minute or two, it should work itself down to the corner that way.

Ok will need to make up some sline - kettle boiled a while a go - how much salt in do you reckon - no saline about other than 'refresh contacts' wwyd

Also, try closing your eye, looking downwards and gently massaging your upper eyelid to work it down.

It'll probably work its way out but it's harder with small pieces than whole lenses. Worst case scenario is A&E can put yellow dye on to see it then grab it out.

Thats happened to me. I went to my opticians the next day and they fished it out for me.

Mine have stuck to the inside of the top lid on the two occasions I have lost a bit and been unable to get it out with my fingers. A cotton bud shifted them no problems.
