Sick and dizzy from Loestrin pill?

Today I was suddenly very sick and felt dizzy and had to lie down for a good hour. I still feel drained but no longer sick and am wondering if this is yet another side effect from the Loestrin 30 contraceptive pill I have been taking for two and a bit weeks.

I have already put on a good few pounds, my clothes are much tighter and I feel very concious of my bloated stomach. The only plus is the fact that my tiny boobs are a bit bigger!

Anyway has anyone else had simliar issues? My doctor didnt want to prescribe the mini pill but I am not sure I can cope with all the side effects particularly the weight gain if it is going to continue.

I used to take this pill and never had sickness/dizziness, but I did put on a few pounds. I asked the dr who changed me to Microgynon, which did seem better. After dd I had the mini-pill (Cerazette) - after a few weeks of that I couldn't get into some of my normal clothes! Changed again to another mini which seems OK so far.
Sorry not much help really!!

Thankyou, so it seems weight gain is possibly going to happen with mini pills too. I had hoped that the oestrogen would sort out some of the issues I'd been having since having a coil (hormones went a bit mad after having it removed and my hair has been thinning a bit) but so far all I've got is spots and fat and feeling rough!

I was thinking about the contraceptive implant but then I bet that has similar side effects?

It does sound like this pill doesn't suit you - there's loads of different ones, go back to the dr and ask? I've never tried the implant myself but yes it can have the same kind of side effects as the pills.

I found this article - it's from 2005 but is quite interesting!

Sorry for delay computer being odd! That is a great link thanks! I had so many problems with my coil but do wish it had worked out because of the no hormone thing, the pill always seems to give me weight gain.

I am wondering if my doctor would prescribe me the mini pll if Itry again, she has said to stick this one out for at least three months but I am not sure I will cope with the weight gain if it carries on at this rate.

Just bumping this up in case anyone is around today with any advice. I actually feel pregnant, light headed, drained and certain smells are making me feel sick. May be the oestrogen?

Hi final bump just wondering if anyone knows if the weight gain and side effects when starting a pill go away? I am thinking that if the dizziness etc is just my body adapting then I may be able to cope knowing it is short term but not sure with the weight gain!
