Anti-inflammatories

Did something nasty to my back on Monday and as it wasn't getting better, went to the doc's today. He's prescribed me some strong anti-inflammatories to be taken only three times a day after food. The first one I took after lunch and it doesn't seem to have done much at all. My question: Do these things have a cumulative effect? ie. as I carry on taking them will they have more of an effect? Supposed to be going to London for the day tomorrow and will be awful if I'm in this much pain!

yes, there should be some painkiller effect from 1 dose but taken regularly will have an anti inflammatory effect also.

Is it diclofenac? You can usually take cocodamol or paracetamol in addition if you are able to use it.

Yes it is. I might pop some paracetamol in my handbag for tomorrow then if the anti-inflamm's don't work hard enough

Thanks.

A hot water bottle or wheat bag might also help, or maybe some deep heat?

I have a wheat bag and that does help. If only I could attach it to my back when out and about in town!
