styes - I keep getting them, why?

I don't think I've had a stye since I was about 9 years old but over the last 3-4 weeks I've had one after the other. They move around from eye to eye. At the moment I have two really painful ones on my right eye and I can sense one starting on my left eye. They last a couple of days then go.

Any ideas why I'm getting htem or what I cna do?

Am not a dr but if you keep getting them I think you should see your gp. Regular lid cleaning (next to the lashes - with Lidcare or similar or freshly made up solution as per link I shall try and find) may be helpful in getting the little meibomian glands along the lid margin (that get blocked and infected in a stye) working better. hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html/stye.html

Thanks magso. Since I posted though it got much worse and my inner eyelids are infected so I'm now taking oral antibiotics and have to visit the eye doctor. it's been so painful.
