Bad reaction to blood test

I had a blood test, or at least tried to have a blood test this morning at about 9am. During them drawing blood out I felt faint, dizzy and threw up. So we decided to stop and have rebooked for tomorrow.

However it's now half one and I still feel faint, dizzy and nauseous (sp?) and have a headache.

Spoke to NHS direct at 11am, who told me to notify my GP if it got worse/continued.

Called my GP half hour ago and am waiting for them to call me back. But wondered if anyone had any advice in the meantime.

I kind of feel like I'm drunk, the room is a little spinny, and I feel like I could just nod off. (Trying not to however)

Have been drinking sugary drinks and water, and have eaten about an hour ago. Have even tried gingernut biscuits to help the nausea. So any advice would be appreciated!

NO advice really were you nervous / worried about the blood test? My dh gets like that but afterwards he is fine. If they haven't called back soon call them back again ...
And don't nod off !

Not at all nervous, I'm not bothered by needles (17 piercings & 4 tattoos attest to that), and have had other blood tests fairly recently

So confused!

Receptionist at GP called me after I posted here, doctor will cal me back later.

Wish me luck, going to attempt a blood test again in an hour.

Spoke to the Doctor yesterday, and when I said I was coming back for a second try, he told me I was brave. lol

Have to say, I'm nervous this time

Lesson learnt today. There is an acupuncture point towards the inside of your elbow that makes you sick.

So I'm fine and happy now
