How long will it take for me to feel 'normal' again?? Have totally had enough and want the alien thing out.

I have been and had it removed and the dr I saw said that he didnt think it was a good choice for PCOS and the symptoms I was suffering as it causes your overies to become clogged up and makes the symptoms worse. Could they not have told me that 18 months ago and saved me all this.

I have also had mine removed today. I have had it 14 months and it has been a nightmare. Feel better already! Just 2 stone to lose (put it on in a month after Mirena fitted - hope it comes off as quickly )

Well I hope my Multiload doesnt spin at 1600

I used to call it my little crab, though it more reminds me of something microscopic you would find in water

ihatebeingfrugal: How are you feeling today??? Did the gp give you any idea of when the period would start. I expected it to be instant but am still waiting.

bargainhuntingbetty: Feel better today than I have done in ages. Don't know how much is just relief from getting the thing out ? Had mine removed at the family planning clinic and he just said period would be "sometime soon"!
Can you keep in touch on this thread as it would be really helpful to compare ?

bargainhuntingbetty · 17/04/2010 14:56

Yeah that is a good idea. Glad you are feeling better today. I had mine removed at the family planning too and they didnt tell me what to expect. Have some cramping and a bit of spotting this afternoon so perhaps this is it. Watch this space.

Hi, hope you are ok today. I have been awake since 5am with cramps and then the bleeding started. Doesnt seem to heavy at the moment but I do feel awful, tired, sick etc. Hope you are having an ok time.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I went to have one put in last week (DPs idea not mine) and they could not do it and I was sooooooo pleased. Seems my cervices has too much scaring from stitching I had with DS1

Hi bargainhuntingbetty
Looks like we are exactly the same! Also got shaky hands for some reason. But ...incident with small daughters/nail varnish/dining table at 8.00am this morning was dealt with in a fairly calm manner, which would not have been the case last week when I would have exploded like a rocket. Start new job tomorrow so must keep being calm !! Hope things improve for you

Runaway Wife: I think these are just like Marmite. They are either the best choice you can make or the worst and you never know until you have one fitted.

Hi everyone - Have noticed that along with myself there have been several women having MC's straight after getting the Mirena removed, could there be a link?

mizu · 19/04/2010 13:50

I had my mirena out a couple of years ago after having it in for 18 months. Loved the fact that my periods were so light but hated the way it made me feel, can't do hormones at all. Now have a copper coil in and periods are heavy but feel normal.

bargainhuntingbetty · 19/04/2010 15:02

Hi just an update. Have terrible period. SOOOOoooooooo heavy its unbeleivable. Other than being tired and feeling a bit sick I am fine tho. Hoping it wont last too long and then I will be back to 'normal'.

Hi bargainhuntingbetty
Hope you are feeling better.Mine doesn't sound as bad as yours, just general cramp, tired, and sick feeling - back to normal if I remember correctly! Hope things improve soon

bargainhuntingbetty · 21/04/2010 14:58

Hi Frugal, I am still having slight bleeding although I feel soooo much better. No headaches, no feeling sick, am still tired but that could be down to not sleeping. Hope you are all better now. We should start a petition to ban the damn things.
