I'm meant to be going away on Sunday for a night. Got some penicillin yesterday. And am 30 weeks pregnant.

Reckon I'll make it? Ds is SO excited.

I reckon you'll be feeling MUCH better by then

24-48hrs usually

Did you double up the 1st dose?

nowwhatdoido · 30/03/2010 19:38

In my experience, probably yes. AB's usually kick in within 12-24 hours and you'll be feeling tonnes better by Friday or Saturday I expect.

sigourneybeaver · 30/03/2010 19:40

Great, thank you!

Didn't double first dose, no, but had appointment early enough to get full days worth in yesterday.

Bloody sore still.

What am I? 5?

It truly is the most ill I have ever felt, and that includes all the pregnancy/childbirth/mastitis type stuff I've been through three times.

this article from Charlie Brooker always puts a knowing smile on my face.

missmoopy · 30/03/2010 20:44

I have had it for the first time ever this year, and managed to develop a quinsy which really was the illest I have ever ever felt.

Antibiotics do kick in quite quickly though so get some rest and cross your fingers xx

ConnorTraceptive · 30/03/2010 20:54

You should be feeling better by then, try to drink lots and lots.

Sympathy Missmoopy I have just had a quinsy too, never experienced anything quite so awful!

bacon · 31/03/2010 12:32

My doc wont give antibiotics are in the majority of cases its due to virus attack.

Rest usually makes it better and I have found its better within a couple of days.

I know the pain, I usually cant walk when I have an attack...it kills me

sigourneybeaver · 31/03/2010 14:37

Thanks for the sympathy everyone!

Yes, I love that Brooker article.

Quinsy sounds like hell.

Throat easing off today - hoorah!
