Hi, I had my wisdom tooth out last fri. Went a bit pear shaped as my nerve and a blood vessel got cut.

I was wondering if any one else experienced prolonged numbness or even permenant damage.

After I had my 4 out a few years ago, half of my tongue was numb for a few weeks.
Surgeon did warn me this might happen as they have to go so close to the nerves they sometimes get damaged. But they do repair themselves over time.
I couldn't speak properly for a couple of weeks - work colleagues thought it was hilarious when I returned to work with a speech impediment!

Wasn't permanent though.
Hopefully yours will be fine too.
Which area is numb?
