Butterfly stitches or glue?

My DS who is 3 has just cut this chin open running into a bench. I have cleaned the wound which stopped bleeding pretty quickly and got my local pharmacist to put some butterfly stitches on it. My DD did the same thing (not a bench though) and I took her to the Minor Injuries where they just put butterfly stitches on it.
Should I have gone to Minor Injuries and asked for glue? I have just read some threads which said that glue was better.
It has stopped bleeding and doesn't look too bad so was I wrong to use butterfly stitches?

Sorry if this is rambling. I hate it when they are ill.
