My cycle is a lot shorter now - does this mean anything?

I'm very hormonal and weepy too even after my period started (very uncharacteristic for me).

Cycle now 26 days - was 32 for nearly 20 years so it's a big change.

This happened to me when entering menopause so could be the same for you. I'd suggest you think v carefully before rushing to HRT (in case you think of this). I wish I had never taken it as although it helped with the symptoms at the time I now have breast cancer and can't help thinking the HRT contributed to this.

Take care, be gentle on yourself and if in doubt have a cup of something nice and relax!

Thank-you for posting that. I was too upset yesterday to google it. You said what I was worried about and thought it might be

best make a doctor's appointment

My cycle is always 21 days. Some months it's 12.

26 would be a joy.

Hi again. If your GP suggests HRT please do go through other factors before making your decision. No-one asked me when I'd started periods for example, or had my 1st baby. In fact my periods started early and I had 1st baby after the age of 30. These can be risk factors in breast cancer and if I'd understood that, I might have decided against HRT as it adds a further risk!

Don't worry too much about menopause though, even if its a bit early. It can be managed. I think its tough if you have a lot of commitments as well eg full time work, young family etc. You'll need to delegate more perhaps?! Adjust life a bit?
