How long after the vomitting stopped can you start eating "normal" food again?

I had D&V thursday evening, vomitting stopped on Friday morning and I have had two or three slices of brown bread toasted since then and a handful of boiled rice. not vomitted since but diarrhea still here.

Also wondering whether I can have honey as I seem to have developped a really bad sore throat (too much vomitting??). Can you still get botulism if you're an adult?

We're supposed to go on a holiday trip and I want to make sure the symptoms are gone before we leave.

48hrs after your last symptom is when you can call yourself recovered I think.
If you're still getting the runs -it may help to stick to clear fluids for a while.

You can eat whenever you feel up to it, but keep it simple and take it slowly.
Latest research shows food neither increases nor decreases speed of recovery. Rice, toast, bananas all good. Rehydration sachets are a good idea too.
Honey is fine afaik.
You can take some loperamide for the poo. Again, neither speeds up nor slows down recovery, but will make you more comfortable and reduce dehydration risk.

Hope you are fine soon. Utterly horrid!

48 hr thing is for contagion purposes. You are potentially contagious for up to 48 hrs after symptoms finish.

thanks, does "last symptoms" mean totally no more runny poo?

Technically, yes it does, though runny poo does tend to go on longer than the infection, iyswim? Guts get a bit irritated.
Loperamide will help sort you out.

When are you due to go away? If it's still a few days I'm sure you'll be fine, if still a bit knackered!

We were due to leave today It's in the UK thankfully so no plane to catch but 6 hours drive away and we have paid for accomodation from today.
I am tired and achey all over but could rest on location, we're now thinking of leaving Tuesday.
I'll get Loperamide tomorrow thanks! Is this the same as immodium? Dh took that a few years back and said "never again".
Then all I need is to gather the strength to pack.

Yes, it is Imodium.
Guess your dh didn't like it?!
Hope you are well enough to go by Tuesday.
