for about the last year (or maybe i never took notice before)i have had a white discharge which i thought was perhaps thicker and more of thasn what is normal. Occasionally it's been a bit itchy but on the whole not.
I assumed i must have thrush and got pessarys from the doc.
after noticing it again shortly after i got more pessarys (4 courses) and was told to come back if still the same. I had a swab which got lost (somehow??)
have just used some pessarys again this week and have noticed that i now have some blood (not due on yet)
Is that normal?
have i got it all wrong in that thrush has to be itchy?
could it be something bad? Even thought about the lost tampax scenario after coddys thread. But that would have been obvious after a few months right?? I would smell ?

sorry this is long but please help if you can. Driving myself crackers!

You may have an infection if your bleeding - deffo go see g.p for another swap and some antibiotics.

Ring up your local hospital and ask if they have a GUM clinc - they are specialists in down below bits so will do an internal examination, take swabs, basically give you a thorough check over. It's all anonymous and there is no stigma in going. If you had a swab taken to check for thrush before I assume the doctor looked up there then? So they should have spotted a tampon lurking up there I would hope.

Could it be a cervical erosion? Thats what I think I have atm.

peaceandlight · 20/07/2005 20:22

i was told at a smear that i had an erosion, but would this cause a white discharge or bleeding after pessaries? Do you think ?

I agree with the general consensus. A cervical erosion can cause strange bleeding, but can't cause a white discharge I don't think.

A white discharge is pretty normal post-ovulation. I think thrush is normally itchy and/or smelly. Again, a GUM clinic will be able to tell you what's going on.
