Chest X-Ray

I had a chest x-ray done last friday afternoon and was told to make an appointment 2 weeks later for the results. I got a phone call yesterday from my GP's receptionist asking me to make an immediate appointment to 'discuss my results' and wouldn't tell me anything down the phone.

Well, I'm mildly worried now. Does anyone know what they could have picked up from a plain x-ray? I'm a heavy smoker btw

The GPs receptionist should never reveal details down the phone - in fact she probably doesn't know any details, so don't let that side of it worry you.

Hopefully it's just your GPs surgery being efficient and letting you know that you can come in straight away instead of hanging around for a couple of weeks.

Best of luck.

Thank you, I've never been called at home before so it put the wind up me a little! My GP's really good so, as you say, probably just good efficiency on their part.

Keeping my fingers crossed
