Green poo!

Am hoping someone has experienced this before!! I went to a friend's birthday lunch yesterday afternoon and ate a rather large slice of her birthday cake, covered in dark green icing.

Later that evening I went to the loo and had really green poo. DH thought it was hilarious as it was St. Patrick's day but I am a little worried. Am still pooing green poo today.

Do you think it's the food colouring, and how long might it last?? ( Should I be worried?)

Highly likely to be the food colouring. Spinack and beetroot have a similar effect. Any other symptoms?

How close is your friend? Could you compare 'notes'?

At least you're not shitting shamrocks.

KnottyLocks · 18/03/2010 14:57

Sorry - obviously mean spinach.

Nope no other symptoms. I actually didn't believe it when it first happened, has never happened to me before! She's not one for discussing such matters so I haven't mentioned it to her!

Anyone know how long it might last?

Well i have experienced this before when i was a teenager, i loved that nesquick chocolate milkshake and drank about 4 pints of it one day the day after that i had green poo! Pharmacist said it was caused by too much calcium?? Or dairy..cant remember. Maybe its the colouring in your case though..
