Please help get rid of cradle cap

DD has horrendous cradle cap, it is thick and covers all the top and front of her head. It is in her eyebrows too. HV said to "use olive oil" but ?. How ? I have been putting olive oil on it but presumably that's not enough, it's not going anywhere. Do I pick it off bit by bit? Do I rinse it off, if so with what? It is just getting worse and worse. I have cradle cap shampoo, but cannot see how shampoo is going to move the thick crust. Please help me.

I was at gp's for dds vaccinations, he just said "dont worry about it" AAAAAAAgh! My hv did say that maybe he would give me some cream, but he didn't. I have noticed that dd has started to scratch at it herself, so it must be itchy. If she loosens it herself that would be great, i will just work on it from there.

I found that olive oil overnight and gentle brushing didn't really work, but olive oil overnight and combing with a nit comb worked a treat.

olive oil. or that dentinox shampoo. it does just go if left in time. Causes no harm just doesnt look nice. Drapalene is good too so i have been told!
