Contraceptive injection

Does anyone have any experience of coming off the contraceptive injection? I had my last one in June 2009 so was due one in December but didn't have it as we decided to start ttc this year. I still haven't had a period or any light bleeding at all - I know it's not a massively long time and was on it for about 2 yrs so just wondered what others experiences have been. Am def not pregnant. Thank you

ive got one friend who didnt have any bleeding for 8 months, but another had a period within a few weeks of not having the injection.

I had my last injection in July 2009, and no sign of a period yet.

I've stopped them twice and each time they've returned in about three months. It's taken a bit longer for them to be regular.

Same as above, last one July, no period yet.

Thank you all doesn't sound totally unusual then. Now we've made the decision to try for our 2nd just want to crack on with it! And am assuming it won't happen until periods return? Happy to be corrected on that! fell pregnant with dd whilst on pill and was 12 weeks gone before I realised so no experience of 'trying'!
