Alternative to HRT?

Hi, hope someone can help me with this one.

My mum is no longer able to be prescribed HRT as she has been taking it for a long time and is now 63. Her doctor is worried she may be at risk of a stroke if she takes it for too long.

She is, however, not having a very nice time now that she's no longer taking it and I wondered if anyone could recommend an alternative? I've looked online but without any knowledge it's a bit difficult to tell if anything is actually worthwhile.

So, any advice gratefully received.

I never went on HRT. i took herbs;

  1. Dong Quai
  1. Sage
  1. Evening Primrose oil
  1. camomile

there are others, tell your mum to try these (not all together obviously!) and see which ones she's happy with. I had a really easy menopause with the help of the above and a healthy eating plan.

There's a ggod book by Leslie Kenton on managing the menopause 'naturally'

here on Amazon

She suggests various herbs etc. & I've found it to be a very informative book.
