Has anyone had an aspirin burn from letting an aspirin tablet dissolve in their throat? If so, how long does it take to heal? I have had a sore throat for ages, and have been wondering whether, although initially caused by a cold, it might have been perpetuated by my garlging aspirin and, on occasion, just letting an aspirin tablet dissolve in my throat. I have not done this for a couple of weeks now (due to the above suspicions about aspirin), but I still have a quite localised burning sensation at the back of my throat radiating up into my left ear. Could it be an aspirin burn? I have been to my GP who did not see anything in my throat (perhaps they can't see far back enough) and did not see any signs of infection or swollen tonsils - nothing. The pain and burning is however excruciating. I can't figure this out and of course fear something really bad and hidden. Any experiences of aspirin burns or knowledge of how long they might take to heal would be grately appreciated. Thanks.
