Horrible nausea when NOT pregnant ....

Does anyone else suffer from this?

I suddenly start retching for no reason. Usually it's first thing in the morning when I've just got dressed, or when I sit down in front of the computer. Sometimes when I am walking outside.

It's not my eyes - have had them checked.

It's fairly sporadic so I never quite know when it's going to hit me. When I do retch I never bring up very much (just stomach acid) but it's still very unpleasant.

I've been to the doctor once and she thought it might be due to acid reflux and gave me some antacids which haven't really made any difference.

I know, I know, I should go back but am sure that will involve a barium meal and or an endoscopy which I am DREADING so thought I would post here first just to share my woes and see if anyone else has the same thing (forewarned is forearmed and all that).

I have a feeling it could be "structural" somehow as I'm a bit overweight currently.

Anyone else out there with the same thing?

Thanks MadamDeathstare

I've just gone back on the pill and the nausea is the same as it was before, so I don't think it's that. And before I did, my periods were very regular so I don't think it's the menopause but best to get that checked as well I guess (depressing thought).

I had this for nearly a year. Went on antacids and they did nothing. Then I started getting terrible headaches with the nausea and one bad weekend I was vomiting for 4 days with it.
Dr said it could be hormonal as i got really bad around the time my period was due. I went on progesterone only pill 2 months ago and its virtually gone thank god, so must have been that!

That's really interesting AllaboutMe - thanks

Maybe it is hormone related after all

I'll see how it is after another month on the pill ....

Oh dear, well I guess I'll have a clearer picture if the nausea improves or worsens the longer I take the mini-pill

If neither, I suppose that means it's something unrelated
