Sorry anyone expecting a joke!

dd has had something resembling diarrhoea for about 2 weeks now (ever since she recovered from a fever in fact). At first it was quite definately diarrhoea, but kept getting better as I cut down her milk and put her on a bland diet (cereal, carrots, broccoli, rice. poor mite). But it keprt coming back as soon as she ate something normal.

After a week I took her to the doc who prescribed some weird powder derivative of gelatine. 5 days later though and she is still doing unusually big and soft poos twice a day.

Is it still diarrhoea or something else? The poos aren't liquid - about the consistency of Mr whippy. It's just its so much and not what she used to do.

Should I take her back to the doctors? I would do so anyway, but if we go to the docs tomorrow it means a 40 min walk at midday in 40+ degree heat - Wednesday would be easier.

hope nobody was eating at the computer anyway.

lots of children do become temporarily lactose intolerent after having been ill,my ds is lactose intolerent(all the time iyswim)and his poo went from v runny to being just as you describe-mr whippy!also remember that the heat can make tummies unsettled too,if she is otherwise thriving i shouldn't panic, but i would deff go back to the docs.it can take what seems a really long time for little tums to get back to normal.hth.
