Cortisone injection for Trochanteric Bursitis

Can anyone tell me if this will be painful. GP said that I need to have one and I smiled and said, "yes please - anything to fix my hip", but like an idiot didn't ask any questions.

TIA

Umm - Yes it will be pretty sore! Should only be sore for a minute or so then hopefully the injection will kick in and you should feel instant relief.

I had cortisone injections in my hip - it was a bit like a bee sting and was sore afterwards. Wasn't too bad although. Good luck!

I've had the injection and been told it'll take a week or two to work. GP thinks that the length of time I've had the problem has caused some problems with my illotibal band so has referred me for physio.

PS - I was very pathetic when having the injection done and the GP had to remind me to breath.
