bulging discs

I am currently out of action with a bulge in between my l4 and l5 disc,the pain is so bad! Any tips on exercises to help strengthen my lower back muscles?

I am in recovery from 1 bulging and 1 torn disc around L3/L4

Have you seen a physio? They will be able to show you some gentle movements.
You will have to be very careful that you don't make it worse (personal experience - ouch)

My physio recommended getting a yoga ball and sitting on it and just trying to raise one foot at a time a centimetre off the floor without moving my body. This is supposed to help with the core muscles. Other than that I was told pilates and just to keep active - gentle walking etc.
