Could hypnotherapy help my year 4 8 year old DS stop sucking his fingers at bedtime?
He has a 1 inch overbite now from sucking since a baby and the dentist wont even consider remedial work until DS has completely stopped sucking.

I don't know the answer OP, but I have just been reading a piece in today's Independent about a successful hypnotherapy treatment for smoking cessation. There is a number at the end of the piece so perhaps you could ring her and ask her yourself.

Thanks GLJ. I have numbers of local hypnotherapists that i could ring but I would really like the opinion of someone who doesn't have a vested financial interest in saying yes, it will/could work. That's why i thought I'd ask the trusted Mumsnet crew.
