My 11 day old baby slept for 6 hours on saturday night and slept for 7/8 hours last night. i had to wake her up for this morning's feed.

i don't think this is normal. she is still losing weight but only very very small amounts (which is normal) and does feed for 2 hours from 9-12pm. But i'm still worried.

Have anyone experienced this ??? she has about two long sleeps during the day (about 3 hrs at least)....

I'm usually with the leave a sleeping baby thing but blossom's DD is slightly jaundiced which is a bit different. Once the jaundice has completely gone I would leave her to sleep, but until it has I would wake her for feeds.

I got DD2 checked out this morning with the GP and had found a pediatrician just in case i wanted a second opinion.

She's regained her birth weight, grown a whole centimetre and generally doing well. GP said not to worry and it was probably the heat keeping her asleep.

today she's been feeding every couple of hours and her jaundice seems to be fading .... i do feel better knowing that she's regained her birth weight.

thank you very much for all your advice. its been really useful and supportive to know your opinions and that DD2 is not the only one .... we'll see how the next few nights go ...

Good news blossom!

Perhaps when the weather gets a little cooler you could cunningly set the central heating thermostat to go off only in her room

On, I mean!
