colonoscopy tomorrow

I've drunk the citra-something at 2 but only one bad/quick trip to the loo so far.

I've stuck to the diet EXCEPT I had a small glass of white wine last night (to relax) and hope that wasn't a bad thing that will affect tomorrow morning's scan. I figured if I could drink squash, fizzy drinks then white wine wouldn't be a problem (?). anyone know?

drinking water now to flush and hydrate. I've had one sachet of the citra-whatever at 2pm with one bad but quick loo trip so far. I expected a few more trips to the loo but maybe that will come with the next sachet at 6pm?

sigh. sorry, not a fun subject. I'm just bored and trying to keep my mind off tomorrow morn.

I hope they give results straight away.

oh, I really must be nervous.

Just realised I've taken the 1st citromag wrong with 700ml of water instead of 7oz (200ml). Ihope I haven't 'ruined' everything and have to reschedule.

I'm waiting for a call back from NHS direct to see if all is ok.

i know you prob don't have much to comment on this but I feel better for writing about it .

No experience or advice but the best of luck tomorrow - hope it's not too hideous.

Thank you, Hassled, I'm very grateful for support.

about the citromag: good ol' NHS direct called back to say no prob, I should be fine for tomorrow. Thank goodness as I would have hated to reschedule something like this. I just want it over.

Hope it all goes smoothly. I am in the slightly odd situation of waiting and hoping for an appointment for a colonoscopy so would be interested to hear how it goes. Well I hope.

Hi,
I had this procedure on Monday. I found the sunday worse than the actual procedure - they gave me a mild sedative and pain relief and really put me at ease. I would recommend not wearing your tightest fitting outfit round your waist on Monday as my stomach was swollen afterwards for a while.

Taking the dressing gown and slippers they recommend was a good idea, for the time I had to wait dressed in a gown (over an hour!) and a paper/magazine too.

All the best.

Tree, I'll update you tomorrow.

Keziah, thanks for the advice. I hope your results were good.

hi all. procedure was a bit uncomfortable (actually, painful when they did the air) but the consultant, assistants, nurse were all very nice. importantly, the scan showed my colon clear, not even a polyp! they took samples for biopsy for which I'll get results in a couple of weeks. Then, I'll just have to get checked again in a few years as precaution for my family history (of colorectal cancer).

In any case, I'm very relieved and glad I got the test done.

Tree, hope yours goes well, too.
