Heres the link: gentlebirth.org/nwnm.org/VaccineOffer.htm

THE FOLLOWING OFFER is made to U.S.-licensed medical doctors who routinely administer childhood vaccinations and to pharmaceutical company CEOs worldwide:

Jock Doubleday, president of the California nonprofit corporation Natural Woman, Natural Man, Inc., hereby offers $20,000.00 (U.S.) to the first medical doctor or pharmaceutical company CEO who publicly drinks a mixture of standard vaccine additive ingredients in the same amount as a six-year-old child is recommended to receive under the year-2000 guidelines of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The mixture will not contain viruses or bacteria dead or alive, but will contain standard vaccine additive ingredients in their usual forms and proportions. The mixture will include, but will not be limited to: thimerosal (a mercury derivative), ethylene glycol (antifreeze), phenol (a disinfectant dye), benzethonium chloride (a disinfectant), formaldehyde (a preservative and disinfectant), and aluminum.

Cant wait for the first doctor to do it!

"Most people (even the pro-jabbers) now respect my choice for my children in our circumstances even if its not what they would choose for their own."

Absolutely - I remember getting into a debate with you (and others) about this when I first started posting on MN, at the time I didn't really 'appreciate' the reasons why people (like yourself) don't vaccinate that soon changed and while I'd never consider "not" vaccinating any subsequent children (If I ever talk DH into anymore) I respect (and understand) your reasonings.

Jimjams · 17/07/2005 22:10

thank you QoQ- my aim is only ever for people to understand that the vaccination decision is grey rather than black and white. I'm never 100% happy with the decision I've taken - I just can't take the other one!

snafu · 17/07/2005 22:14

MMDDWW seems to have a bit of a problem with the general culture of respect and reasoned debate on MN. I have yet to read a post of hers not attached to the front of a large bulldozer.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here, MMDDWW. Perhaps you could clarify so we can all get off our fences and start rattling some cages?

Jimjams · 17/07/2005 22:21

btw mmddww- I have seen this story a number of tims over the last few years. I've never posted it as I think it makes the decision not to vaccinate look stupid and controversial rather than sensible in some cases.

The best person to read on vaccination is Randall Neudstaedter. He's good because although he is in general anti jabs he doesn't allow sloppy thinking to be part of that decision. He also points out the cons of choosing not to vaccinate (and the cons of vaccinating). For example he describes the tetanus vaccinaiton as being generally regarded as very safe (which is why I would give one if I could find one that was thimerosal free) and describes how he treated a boy who had contracted tetanus from a splinter. "The vaccination guide" by Randall neudstadter - essential reading for anyone trying to suss out the risks. He insists that claims are not made without proper studies. I read an interesting article in a homeopathy journal by him as well where he was insisting on proper Science to back up any claims being made.

"I have yet to read a post of hers not attached to the front of a large bulldozer. "

PMSL Love that description

mamadadawahwah · 17/07/2005 22:33

I didnt say anything about innoculations. Many of you did though. I posted a link which i found of interest. If you all want to get into a debate about needles, thats your business. Let the story speak for itself.

Oh and by the way, I have never changed my name since I came onto mumsnet. Perhaps socci you believe that there is only one person on mumsnet who could possibly think like me. I doubt it. The innoculations thing isnt an issue for me. I just wouldnt do it and I dont really care what you do with your own kids to be honest. Their your kids. Do what you want.

OP posts:
Jimjams · 17/07/2005 22:35

err I think Soci hasn;t vaccinated. I think the point here is the bulldozer stuff mmddww.

QueenOfQuotes · 17/07/2005 22:35

"I didnt say anything about innoculations."

ermm - but the money being offered is (to my understanding) to drink the additive ingredients found in the innoculations which some of us have given our children...........

hunkermunker · 17/07/2005 22:36

MDW, why are you so aggressive? Do you ever laugh?

QueenOfQuotes · 17/07/2005 22:42

"laugh" huh??? What's that????

snafu · 17/07/2005 22:42

Laughter is all a big conspiracy, y'know.

ruty · 17/07/2005 22:43

mdw this story has been around for ages. And socci and jimjams are rather better informed than most of us so easy now!

mamadadawahwah · 17/07/2005 22:45

Its disappointing that anything "controversial) which is this case I just dont think it is, is responded to with comments of personal nature. Over and over again, the connotation is that my posts are aggressive, devoid of humour, insensitive.

Give me a break. You dont live in plastic bubbles. Your skin isnt going to fall off if you read something "controversial". For Gods sake grow up. If you dont like what I say just say so, but stop with the personal comments already.

I remember a thread recently where some MNers were cat calling other MNers. I was aghast at the behaviour of these people. If you dont like this thread, maybe you could argue your opposing view in a more mature and refined manner than reducing it to personalities.

And yes, I have a great sense of humour. I am laughing at writing this. I wonder why. You figure it out.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 17/07/2005 22:49

Have no problem with controversy.

And if everyone thinks you're aggressive...don't you think there might be a tiny shred of truth in that?

snafu · 17/07/2005 22:51

But just because something is controversial doesn't actually make it worthy of argument, per se. Maybe you're not getting much of response because no-one thinks there's very much scope for a proper debate in your original post. You've started a few threads recently that smack of scaremongering, conspiracy theories and sensationalism. And then you just get pissed off when no-one rises to the bait.

So what exactly is it that you want to argue about?

mamadadawahwah · 17/07/2005 22:51

NO offence to anyone who is informed, but there are "how many people" on MN and in the rest of the world?? I'm sorry but MN really suffers from a group mentality. I have looked at other threads which perhaps some of you might find "controversial". The same thing happened to these posters. A few people respond, by debunking the thread or twisting it into something else and everyone agrees together.

Sorry but puke. No offence to jimjams cause I think she or he is an inordinately reasonable, intelligent and patient person. However, she dosent speak for me nor I for her. If you dont like what I say, well too bad really. I know someone out there enjoyed this particular article. But, are they afraid to say so? I know I found it of interest and I am sure someone else did too. What is MN really about? Who determines what is "controversial" and what "should" be said. I dont think this thread is offensive in any way shape or form. If I was offensive I would probably be kicked out. So far still here though.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 17/07/2005 22:51

Is this the room for the argument?

mamadadawahwah · 17/07/2005 22:52

So if i discuss the merits of big brother, I wont be bothered right.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 17/07/2005 22:52

If by controversial you mean unfounded pseudoscience, then no wonder people were debunked.

Pshaw!

SenoraPostrophe · 17/07/2005 22:53

What jabs do 6 year olds get anyway? Is he talking about drinking additioves from several jabs at once by any chance?

also like everyone else says, jimjams knows her stuff on this issue.

hunkermunker · 17/07/2005 22:53

Cos that's all the rest of us discuss...! PMSL!

Do we all have to have serious debates all the time?

Did you ever answer the post about how Americans would be on a forum like this on your last thread MDW?

snafu · 17/07/2005 22:53

Well, I guess that just begs the question - if we're all so dull and sheeplike and make you want to 'puke', why are you still here?

Jimjams · 17/07/2005 22:53

MMDDWW so far you've accuse Scientists of being involved in some great conspiracy and the mother's of autistic children on here of giving up on their kids and being too negative. I'm both a scientist and mother of an autistic child. I could be pretty offended- I'm not- I'm just bored of it. I come on here for a break, to socialise (in a weird way admittedly) to chat, not to counter accusations. There's a lot of support avaiable on this website- but we're not the enemy.

hunkermunker · 17/07/2005 22:54

xpost, SP

tamum · 17/07/2005 22:56

"maybe you could argue your opposing view in a more mature and refined manner"

"For Gods sake grow up"

Interesting juxtaposition.
