how long til sober?

DH came rolling in at 2am totally p*ssed and can't recall a thing about it

anyway he's due to pick his son up this morning but i have said no way is he sober enough yet

he has no idea how much he has had to drink so how do we know when he'll be fit to drive?

Its around 1 unit per hour for a rough guide. Assume he has had about 20 units.....

This is a guide to content of usual drinks . So even around 20 units for a night out would be -for some people- on the low side. But if he isn't used to drinking his recovery time may be longer.

A pint of ordinary (4%) strength lager - 2.3 units
A pint of strong lager - 3 units
A standard 175ml glass of red or white wine - around 2 units
A large 250ml glass of red or white wine - around 3 units
A small (25ml) measure of spirits -1 unit
A 275ml bottled alcopop - 1.5 units

Better to be safe than sorry.
