lump on cervix...

Im asking this for a family member, she has a lump on her cervix, bleeding inbetween periods and has had abnormal cells lasered off about 10 years ago..she hasn't been going for smears in the last few years and now she is having to go into hospital for tests on this lump..

Given her history of abnormal cells, is it likely that this lump is bad news? She went for yearly smears after the abnormal cells until she got the all clear but then according to her DH she hasn't been going since then.

What else could this lump be? A cyst or something?

The lump could be lots of things - a Nabothian follicle, a polyp, scar tissue, endometriosis, sometimes fibroids can come down from the uterine cavity.
She's getting investigated which is a good thing and really until the tests have come back, it can't be certain, what if anything, is wrong. It's difficult waiting but please support her and I hope it goes well for her.
