Vitamin tablets, will taking 50+ harm me?

Because of my current diet, I have to take vitamin and mineral tablets. I bought some from tesco but they're the wrong type and not giving me what I need.

DH has some 50+ ones which HE bought by accident. I've looked at the ingredients and they have everything I need.

But I'm not even 30 yet! will it harm me at all to take these?

I thought you meant taking 50 at once!

yes, yes calm down, they will be fine for you. Probably extra calcium or something for crumbling bones!

Disenchanted3 · 04/03/2010 11:54

thought you had OD'd on 50 tablets then!

Check the levels - as long as they are not way over the recommended daily amounts, then they won't do you any harm, your body will just get rid of any extra you don't need.

You can overdose on some vitamins, but that would be by taking 50 all in one go, which was what I thought you might mean!

another one who thought you'd ODd
What a way to go though - with shiney hair and strong fingernails

This reminds me of when I was a young teenager, and asked a friend if you had to be 17 in order to buy Just 17 magazine!

The 50+ just means that the formulation probably concentrates on the vitamins and minerals needed post menopause. They won't do you any harm.

sorry just read the title and it does come across as "help, I've OD'd!"

Thing is, they're that huge, I can barely swallow one, never mind 50 ... I'd choke to death first

Thanks for the advice x
