Erythromycin dosage - Freaking out!!!!

Have been to the docs today because i didnt feel quite right. Had a bit of indigestion like pain for a few days. Anyway doc reckons i've got a crackle in my lung and thinks i have a chest infection. I've also got a urine infection. He prescribed erythromycin 250mg. I have to take 2 of these tablets 4 times a day. Im no doctor but i think thats a hell of a lot. Can anyone offer any advice? I suffer a bit with anxiety so i'm freaking out at the thought of taking that amount of antibiotic. Thanks x

i know what it can be like with anxiety , i to suffer with that .

500mg every six hours is the regular dose for erythromycin, so don't panic!

yes thats entirely normal - I have just finished a course that totalled 3000mg a day of amoxycillin - that was a bit lively I can tell you.............

i can assure you that although it seems alot 2grams of erythromycin per day is fine...have been on that amount myself, just watch out for tummy upset which is common with this antibiotic hope you feel better soon.
