Breast changes - when to see a dr?

Over the weekend my right breast was really tender, located just under nipple on areola (sp). Areola bumpier than usual and a little red and hot underneath. The pain has gone now and all to see is a little dry area of skin.

I have a dr appt booked for tomorrow but now think I need to cancel it, as really nothing to see. Just wondered if others had experience of anything similar. My mum has had breast cancer, so kind of thought I should get it checked but now think it is nothing and would rather not go.

TIA

do go- probably nothing but not worth ignoring considering your family history. Don't be embarrassed ,they have seen it all before.

thanks for replying.

My DH has talked me into going as well, so I will. So hopefully nothing.

Good luck and let us know

Went to dr. He thinks it was probably an infection and to keep an eye out for anything similar. Couldnt feel any lumps or bumps. And he didn't make me feel I was wasting his time thankfully.

Thanks for the support purplepeony
